• THE INCIDENT: WHAT HAPPENED:

on 4 march 2026, a united states navy submarine launched a torpedo attack on the iranian frigate IRIS Dena, 

Location 

The attack occured:

• About 40  nautical miles of Galle, off the southern coast of sri lanka.

• The iranian ship was sailing westward across the indian Ocean.

• The warship had just completed a diplomatic naval visit to india.
